Delivering on our Sankalp

We propose to fulfill our objective largely through financial support. There are many students who drop out after high school / junior college or compromise their passion for education and a better life because of paucity of funds. At the same time, there are donors who wish to lend a helping hand and are looking for trusted, capable and well-governed social organizations to work with. We would like to bridge this gap between the Donors and the Students by creating a trusted platform. We will identify deserving students and support them through their graduation or vocational skilling programs, thus easing their financial stress and instead allowing them to focus on building stable and promising futures for themselves and their families.

Our implementation network

The Board of Trustees of Sankalp Trust vets the applications that it receives for financial support. The Board of Trustees has also resolved that each member will give freely of his/her time in understanding the capabilities and temperament of each student, and in mentoring and grooming them, so as to help each individual to achieve their potential. With backgrounds in engineering, information sciences, architecture, business management the trustees have the experience and expertise to offer multi-disciplinary support to the aspirants.

Selection Criteria

We are looking for consistent performers through middle and high school. Consistency signals stability and dedication and ensures quality results and success.

We will examine the financial position of the student’s family and assure ourselves of the financial need before we disburse funds. We have hence mandated that all applications be routed through well known references who are also responsible for the initial screening.

We believe that it is important to also understand a young person’s Emotional Quotient and appreciate the degree of internal motivation, self-regulation and self-awareness that they possess.

Our support is agnostic, with no bias towards gender/faith/community/personal beliefs or preferences. We look solely at the future potential value that the student will bring to society and the ability to uplift their family and the society as a whole.

We propose to prioritize Vizianagaram, the city of our alma mater. However, we will not limit ourselves to that geography alone, but instead take our skills, our mentorship and our money to wherever it is needed.
